La vie en rose

 

It is late at night and someone across the way is playing "La Vie En Rose". It is the French way of saying, "I am looking at the world through rose-coloured glasses," and it says everything I feel ~ Sabrina
Some of my recent Parisian purchases, my love for the colour pink, Audrey Hepburn and Paris inspired me to write this blog post! But also this post will be much more than that and I'm going to speak from the heart!

 The quote above is from one of my favourite Audrey Hepburn films called Sabrina when she is writing a letter to her father from Paris! La vie en rose literally translates to Life in pink or life through rosy (pink) glasses and I have often been told I see the world through rose tinted glasses! Some people use this as an insult as you're perceived as naive or having an unrealistic view on the world, but seeing the world through rose-coloured glasses is a beautiful thing, it's a state of bliss, living in the moment and not just standing aside to watch! It's having a positive, romantic and optimistic outlook on life even when life is difficult! 

Trust me I don't always have a rosy outlook on life and I have my bad days like anyone and sometimes I've wondered how I still have this rosy vision when I've had my fair share of heartache and struggles too but it's just who I am and I'm not going to let the world harden me! Life is tough and certainly isn't all roses which is one of the reasons why I want to be loving and kind to others and myself because life can be hard enough without us adding to it! I haven't always been kind to myself either and have at times been very self destructive but we all deserve love and happiness! Rather than drowning in the awful things that can happen in our life instead lets choose to grow through it and let it strengthen our character and become better versions of ourselves and focus on the little magical moments that make us happy! 

Everything does happen for a reason even when it feels unfair and cruel! It's how we use that pain and turn it into something good! I adore taking pretty photos but I've also been told by people that know me and people I've never met before that I inspire them and that is a truly wonderful thing to hear because I want to help people believe in the magic within them and notice the beauty that surrounds us! In my photos my life may look like a fairytale but that isn't always the case, I do hope my photos bring some magic and beauty because I love photography and sharing pretty things and I love telling a story through my photography, it's my creative outlet and really helps me express myself! I encourage you to find your passions, tell yourself you are beautiful, be grateful, live life to the fullest, be kind, be loving and La vie en rose!

I'm a very sentimental person but this time of year makes me even more so as I reflect on the year, Christmas is under a week away and January will mark the 9 year anniversary of my mums passing! I find having passions, goals, enjoying the little things and talking about your feelings helps enormously! It's also more than OK not to always feel OK, I'm a very emotional soul and although at times it can be draining I think it's so important to be in touch with your emotions, we all carry such heavy loads in our life so it's good to share with people you trust and I just hope at least one of you takes something positive away from this.
